Mini Album: Say Yes To New Adventures

Hey there! I have a couple of new mini album pages to share with you today. All the pictures on these pages were taken during our Moab trip (I promise I’ll stop talking about Moab soon… maybe.)  I actually love looking at these pages you’re about to see because if you didn’t know any better, you would think I was an adventurous person just by looking at them. You would have no idea that lately my life pretty much consists of watching all the Real Housewives, scarfing down rainbow sorbet, that’s if I actually felt like getting up and taking the time to scoop it in a plastic cup, if not, I’d be stuffing my face with Doritos. Adventurous? Ha!

For this first layout, I used two inserts from Push Print Studio for my background. The first insert (pink and white) is from the This and That set, and the second (polka dot) is from the Let’s Do This set. I added some washi tape from Studio Calico (?) and a die cut from Hero Arts Clearly Kelly’s To Do List stamp and die set. I made the transparency page with Grafix Ink Jet Film and added an exclamation mark pattern with Kellie Stamps’ Nuts About Food digital stamp set. If you have not checked out Caytlyn Chilelli’s (owner of Push Print Studio) blog post on how to print on transparency paper, you must! This is where I learned it from!

The “Perfect” digital stamp is from Kellie Stamps’ Today Was set. I added some plus sign puffy stickers that I received from one of Messy Box’s kits.

On the next layout, I kept it real simple and added a quote to one of my pictures with Photoshop.

20170506_082604

It’s a little hard to see the quote because I used a pale pink color for my font.

This is one of the many reasons I love my GoPro because let’s face it, if my husband took this photo with his phone, 1. it wouldn’t exist because he wouldn’t have taken a picture 2. if he did happen to take a picture after I asked him to, it would’ve looked like… well let’s just say I didn’t marry him for his photography skills.

20170506_082610

And here’s my last layout. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me post this already for (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day. I joined the Kellie Stamps challenge which included making a patterned background and combining two different stamp sets.

20170506_082643

Again, this is another simple layout and again, it was my GoPro to the rescue. I’ve been inspired by a lot of magazine and typography design and I’ve been drawn to clean and simple looks and so I tried to mimick some of that into this album. The only embelleshment I used on this layout was a black heart from Amy Tangerine On A Whim thickers. I don’t use thickers often but I love this set and you might have seen some of these pop up on my flat lays.

So adventurous!!!

I must go now, my couch and TV await! Thanks for checking out today’s blog post!

Kellie Stamps April ’17 Release

It’s May!!! I don’t know why I’m so excited about a new month, maybe it’s because the school year is coming to an end? Or maybe it’s because I finally get to share my big news? Well, we’re almost there, I can’t do that just yet! It could also be that we’re getting closer to the new Game of Thrones season? Hey, it’s the little things friends!

April was full of great releases and today I’m sharing Kellie Stamps‘ new stamp sets, which are available in physical and digital formats.

The first digital stamp set I used was Like a Girl, but don’t be fooled by the name! You can use this set in numerous ways. I used it to document a 5K AJ and I had done a couple of years ago, you know, back when I actually did healthy, productive things… long, long ago.

20170418_124151

I love this layout because you can see the different things you can do with a digital stamp set. I created a journaling card with the “workout.” stamp, which is usually my first go-to technique.  I also created an insert with the “sweat smile repeat” stamp and I changed the color of it to match the rest of the spread.

Another way I like to use digital stamps is to simply put them on my photos, just like I did below.

20170418_124307

Did you watch my latest YouTube video? I used the technique from the video to make the “killin’ it” overlay.

20170418_124427

I have always wanted to create a layout with nothing but photos and this was my chance! I was able to do it with these photos of AJ and the Good Food stamp set.

20170418_125905

You know I love a big photo and this picture was perfect paired with the “Good Food” stamp.

20170418_125919

The “Cook Up” stamp was the perfect addition to this black and white photo of AJ!

20170418_125950

These are just a few things you can do with digital stamps. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy using physical stamps, but I do feel like I get more flexibility with digital. Do you like using digital stamps? What’s your favorite way to use them?

If you haven’t used digital stamps, I hope you got a little inspiration on how to use them! See you guys next time!

Mini Album: 2017

Yay! Spring is here! This is my favorite time of year! This is when I have my Julie Andrews/Maria von Trapp moment running up the hills singing “the hills are alive”. There’s just something about flowers, plants, and trees blooming all around, warmer weather, and allergies with the occasional nose bleed, I just love it all!

If you follow me on Instagram and have read earlier posts, you’ve probably already seen the first few pages of my 2017 mini album. But, since I had not made an “official” post, I thought why not share the first pages on a separate post? So get ready for some deja-vu as you scroll down.

Let’s begin with the album itself, it’s the Reporter Acrylic Album. I ordered it through Jamiaca Makes. <-  This is the link to the shop, this particular album is not available right now but she does have more to choose from. (Plus, check out her blog, she has awesome layouts!)

20170326_125236

I used Kellie Stamps’ Hello Sunshine Digital Set for the “2017”. I added it with Photoshop, did my little eraser magic as to make my peace sign fingers appear in front of the numbers, slapped on some Alanis lyrics, and viola! My cover page was made!

20170326_125836

For these next couple of pages, I used the Daisy 6×8 Printable from Push Print Studios and a photo that I took using my GoPro. I made a notecard using a digital stamp from Kellie Stamps’ Good Times and I jotted down some quotes, you know, in case I need to give myself a little pep talk, like I’ve been needing to everyday this year.

20170326_125338

I used another one of Kellie Stamps digital sets for this next layout, Today Was, and stickers from the Fri-Yay sticker set.

20170326_125416

This is what I love about digital stamps, the possibilities are endless! I love how I was able to use this phrase as the background to these photos (also taken with my GoPro). I was able to add pops of color with these circle cork stickers from my Messy Box subscription.

20170326_125802

I feel like my mini album is off to a good start and I can’t wait to share more soon! But for now, I think I’m going to take advantage of this beautiful day and maybe take a nap or watch TV all day.

Hope you guys enjoyed!

Project Life: February ’17

Hey guys! I’m so excited to share my February layout with you today because, well, it sorta kicked my ass this time around. January’s layout was just so easy to put together and I loved how it turned out, and with this month’s layout, I struggled a bit. Not much went on this month but thankfully we took a little road trip the day after my birthday to go ride our rzr side by sides and I managed to get a lot of photos with my GoPro. After having to just walk away from this layout a couple of times, I was able to finally put it all together and now all is good in my craft room!

20170308_130546

This layout consists of a big mashup of Push Print Studios, Becky Higgins, and Studio Calico inserts. Sometimes that’s how it just turns out and that’s okay! I used inserts from the Everyday Daydream, Shine,  and Yes printable sets from Push Print Studios. I also cut down a 4×6 insert, from the Wander core kit from Becky Higgins, into a 4×3. The Studio Calico inserts I used were from paper packs and inserts I bought a while back when they had a sale.

20170308_133328

I used Kellie Stamps’ Digital Month set again for my title photo. I was able to get this quick picture with my Samsung phone. Random fact about me, I downloaded Snapchat ONLY because I saw they came out with a Hello Kitty filter. I am OBSESSED with Hello Kitty!!! Other than that, I really don’t understand the whole point of that app.

Also, can you take a wild guess how old I turned last month?

20170308_132622

Here is a close up of some of the Push Print Studio inserts  I used. I have been hoarding this insert that gives me tribal/southwest vibes. I love this insert and I thought it went perfect with our New Mexico pictures.

20170308_133346

Because I had so many pictures of our small trip, I decided to cut down a Design V page protector from a 12×12 into a 4×12. I stamped the first photo using Kelly Purkey’s February Kit and I added a tab with the date. I finished this page with a chipboard accent from the Everyday Edition Chipboard Stickers and an insert from the Confetti Edition Digital Set. Here is the front and back of the page that I will be putting in between this month’s layout.

Untitled-3

Whew! That’s a lot of stuff I used for this layout! Hoarding has it’s privileges my friends! And here’s one more thing to hoard, the journal card I made to document the month. Remember, just right click and select save.

February Journal Card

I’m really hoping that March’s layout will be a little easier to put together because I plan on having A TON of photos! We will actually be heading to Moab, Utah next week for Spring Break. This is the first time we will be going to Utah so we’re looking forward to a change in scenery. And yes, we’re taking the side by sides and the dogs! Fun times!

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life: January ’17

Hey guys! I know we’re already in mid February but I just now finished my January layout. I had a couple of set backs so far this month including laziness, multiple shows that I needed to catch up on, running out of printer ink, my birthday I was required to celebrate, all sprinkled with more laziness. But yesterday I decided to finally do some “adulting” and drove those long five miles to Best Buy to buy printer ink before I took my kid to get new clothes because for some reason he outgrows everything. I even gassed up the ol’ jeep. Talk about a busy day! So proud of myself! Thank goodness my husband didn’t want a home cooked meal!

Anyway, I shared the first page of my January layout on the Color Cast Designs January ’17 Release blog post, but you can now see the full layout.

20170214_141550

I LOVE the pop of orange on here. This was not planned but I happened to have the orange inserts from the Kelly Purkey monthly kit subscription that I received in January. It just happened to go well with the picture of my dog, Zoie, the firewood pic, and the dead grass from the “today” photo. Who would’ve thought you could match PL inserts with dead grass? That’s pretty creative if you ask me! So obviously, since I had the first page already done, I wanted to carry over some of that orange to the second page.

I have a confession, I sucked at taking photos during this month (I think I was a little burnt out from December Daily). So much so that I had to reuse my peace sign picture again (I used the same picture for my mini album cover photo). But thankfully, the picture went well with the rest of the layout.

Here is a close up of my title for the layout, using Kellie Stamps Digital Month 2017 set.

20170214_142435

You can see on the close up below the peace sign picture I talked about and an awesome girl power button that I used to add a little more black to this second page. The orange insert was actually a 4×6 insert that I cut down to 3×4. You can also see the “You Are Awesome” veneer and acrylic from Color Cast Designs. One of my faves!

20170214_142114

I did a monthly recap on a plain white insert that I made that has the month and year. I wanted something simple that would go with pretty much anything because I plan on using something like this for the rest of the year. I only made one for January, but I’ll make them as I go. I’m still not 100% confidant with my handwriting so I used Becky Higgins’ Becky Script to type out my journaling. I find myself using this font A LOT! But you can find other fonts on Becky’s website that are also really good if you’re looking for that right hand written-esque look.

Here is the insert I created, it’s a 4×6 but you can cut it down to 3×4. You can right click it and save it! Yay for freebies!

januray-journal-card

I think I’ve already taken way more pictures for February so hopefully that layout will come together as well as this one did! I love when layouts come together without planning!

I hope you guys enjoyed and are having a fab Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day!
