Push Print Studio Design Team/The Lovely Pear x Push Print Studio

Testing, testing 1 2 3. Is this thing still on?

Hey there! Long time no write… er, read? Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve done a blog post and I wish I had a good excuse for not doing so but truth is I really don’t. I’ve just been living life, here at home. Nothing exciting but thankfully nothing bad. I guess you could say my creative mojo completely died there for about a year. Props to those who are still very dedicated in their craftiness. You must show me your ways!

Just when I thought I was done, an awesome opportunity came to me. Caytlyn Cole reached out to me and asked me to collaborate with her on a Push Print Studio set and to be part of her first creative team! It’s not my first time designing cards but it’s the first time I really took it serious! Push Print Studio is my absolute favorite brand to use. I love Caytlyn’s style and I always find something on her website for my layouts.

The Lovely Pear x Push Print Studio is the set I created and you can find it on the PPS website here. Here’s an odd tidbit, I was inspired by skin care products when I created this set. I have been obsessed with skin care and vanity pictures lately! I pulled together this layout to showcase the set and I love the rose theme that came about.

As you can see on this self care list I made, I’m all about the face masks and oils for your face!

Another collaboration PPS did was with Marisol Ortega and I LOVE this set! I was so happy that it paired nicely with my pictures from a recent Tool concert we went to. My favorite thing to do when documenting a concert is adding the setlist somewhere in the layout. This was the perfect thing to document in my new Jamaica Makes album (I was so excited to finally use this!)

I cannot wait to show you what I’m working on next! Stay tuned!

2017 DITL Mini Album

So let me start off by saying I had no intention of doing a Day In The Life project. Why? Because the days in my life are boring, that’s why. Plus, the original date that everybody did this project on, was a weekday, meaning the majority of my album would’ve been me at my desk at work, the rest would’ve been me sprawled all over my couch, in my PJs (which consists of either my George Michael or Beyonce shirt with sweats and no bra (come to my house at your own risk!)), watching re-runs of Seinfeld, and maybe one page about my husband and I spending thirty minutes to an hour deciding what to eat for dinner. Not something I was jumping at the chance to document quite honestly. Then low and behold, my very persuasive creative teammates over at Kellie Stamps, convinced me to do the project with them on July 1st. Not sure how this was the date that got chosen but it fell on a Saturday so I figured why not? And now, check it out, my first project that I actually finished! Yes, first one! Completely done, with a cover page and all!

I actually had the idea of showing you the album in a video, but apparently my voice was not cooperating with me. No, I’m not sick/hoarse. It just sounded ugly.

A quick overview of my day is that I woke up, headed out to a vinyl store at a city nearby, went to a weaving class, ran a couple of errands with my husband, and then came home to relax. Doesn’t sound very special BUT, I took some really neat pictures that helped my album look like I actually do stuff (some weekends look like that first paragraph without the 8 hours at a desk).

I used some digital stamps from Kellie Stamps new release (available here in a couple of days) and I also mixed in some Kelly Purkey Stamps, which I also used to make embellishments. I used Photoshop for my journaling and some paper from Push Print Studio and A Beatuful Mess’ Messy Box.

Thanks to my GoPro, I was able to get shots of myself in the album. Most of the photos were taken with my new Samsung Galaxy S8+. This is the first time I was a little sad to upgrade my phone because I loved my Galaxy S6 Edge, but I’m quickly learning how to work this new phone.

I hope you guys enjoyed looking at my album as I did making it! Thanks for stopping by!

Kellie Stamps: June ’17 Release

Hey guys! I know June is not over yet but I’m going to go ahead and say this has been a pretty successful month. “Why?”, you ask. Well, I don’t know if you’ve seen my Insta-stories but Mother Nature and I are vibing right now. I have actually grown, what will become, a tomato! I’m calling it my baby tomato. This might not seem like a big deal, but it actually is because not only have I grown an actual vegetable, something that nourishes the human race, but it is used to make salsa! Plus, this means I have proved my husband wrong, not all plants come to me to die! That, my friends, is why June is a pretty damn successful month!

Aside from my new awesome food-growing ability, I’m sharing a quick post today about Kellie Stamps release for June. These sets are very versatile and I think you’ll enjoy them whether you are into any form of memory keeping or are a planner person. But honestly, all of Kellie Stamps are perfect for either one, which is why I love them!

For my first project, I did a mini album layout. I had some pictures of me playing around with my new camera, and let’s just say I need a lot more practice! Even though some pictures came out grainy and some blurry, I was still able to use two of the pics for my mini. This is why I have a mini album, it’s great for those pictures that are kinda cool but I wouldn’t necessarily put in my Project Life album.

I used two digital stamps from the Currently stamp set. Right now I’m loving the look of torn paper and pictures so I was happy to rip away to create this layout. The star stickers came in a recent Messy Box and I drew lines on them with a Copic Multiliner pen.20170611_143743

For my second project, I did a 6×8 pocket page layout. I had some random pictures from a recent week on my phone that just happened to go well together after some Lightroom editing. I LOVE the pops of yellow in this layout!

For this project, I used the This Girl digital stamp set. I made a 3×4 insert using the Blah stamp and printed it on transparency paper. I stapled it on top of another insert that I printed from Push Print Studio. I trimmed down the striped insert a little smaller than 3×4 to try to give it a neat effect. It’s all about experimenting you guys!

I also made a cute tag from kraft paper that was inspired from a tag that was attached to a new pair of jeans I recently bought. There’s inspiration everywhere! Also, random tip, don’t like a selfie you took? Chop off half your face!

Hope you guys enjoyed these projects! Thanks for stopping by!

Kellie Stamps: May ’17 Release

I don’t know about you but I’m having what I call my “dream Saturday morning” right now. This pretty much consists of a cup of coffee in hand, being fresh out of the shower, and catching up on my favorite crafty blogs while watching HGTV, that and knowing I have absolutely no other plans for the rest of the day! Yay for me!

Speaking of coffee, Kellie Stamps came out with a new coffe stamp set on May’s release called Coffee. I made all new pocket page inserts using the digital stamps on this set. I went with a gray and craft paper color scheme for this 6×8 layout. Craft paper is my fave!

Below you can see my favorite insert I made for this layout with a little bit of journaling. Luckily Midland has a couple of neat spots around town and I was able to get some photos of one of our newer coffee shops, Brew St.

For this next project, I created a mini-album page using the Funday Week digital stamp set. I wanted to make something simple to go with this black and white photo of my bored self.

You know I will always try to add lyrics from The Cure anywhere I can so this was perfect. Who doesn’t love Friday I’m In Love? It’s an automatic mood booster.

For fun, I thought I’d show you guys the before and after photo of me that I took of myself through the side mirror of my husband’s truck. I obviously took it with my phone (if you squint your eyes you can see my phone on the bottom mirror), and I edited the photo in Lightroom using the BlackMamba preset. You can download the preset for free! This has been my go-to black and white edit lately.

If you follow me on Instagram you heard about my big news, I completely forgot to post here on the blog, but I was a guest designer for Bella Blvd last month. You can read my post here! It was challenging yet rewarding to make layouts with different styled products I’m not normally accustomed to using. It definitely made me broaden my view on making layouts with more color and new types of embellishments! So a huge thank you to Bella Blvd for inviting me to their blog and giving me a chance to show my designs to their audience!

That is it for today! I hope you guys are having your “dream Saturday morning” like I am! Please let me know if you have any ideas for a Top 5 or other editing tips you’d like to see me cover here on The Lovely Pear!

Mini Album: Say Yes To New Adventures

Hey there! I have a couple of new mini album pages to share with you today. All the pictures on these pages were taken during our Moab trip (I promise I’ll stop talking about Moab soon… maybe.)  I actually love looking at these pages you’re about to see because if you didn’t know any better, you would think I was an adventurous person just by looking at them. You would have no idea that lately my life pretty much consists of watching all the Real Housewives, scarfing down rainbow sorbet, that’s if I actually felt like getting up and taking the time to scoop it in a plastic cup, if not, I’d be stuffing my face with Doritos. Adventurous? Ha!

For this first layout, I used two inserts from Push Print Studio for my background. The first insert (pink and white) is from the This and That set, and the second (polka dot) is from the Let’s Do This set. I added some washi tape from Studio Calico (?) and a die cut from Hero Arts Clearly Kelly’s To Do List stamp and die set. I made the transparency page with Grafix Ink Jet Film and added an exclamation mark pattern with Kellie Stamps’ Nuts About Food digital stamp set. If you have not checked out Caytlyn Chilelli’s (owner of Push Print Studio) blog post on how to print on transparency paper, you must! This is where I learned it from!

20170506_082344

The “Perfect” digital stamp is from Kellie Stamps’ Today Was set. I added some plus sign puffy stickers that I received from one of Messy Box’s kits.

20170506_082529

On the next layout, I kept it real simple and added a quote to one of my pictures with Photoshop.

20170506_082604

It’s a little hard to see the quote because I used a pale pink color for my font.

This is one of the many reasons I love my GoPro because let’s face it, if my husband took this photo with his phone, 1. it wouldn’t exist because he wouldn’t have taken a picture 2. if he did happen to take a picture after I asked him to, it would’ve looked like… well let’s just say I didn’t marry him for his photography skills.

20170506_082610

And here’s my last layout. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me post this already for (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day. I joined the Kellie Stamps challenge which included making a patterned background and combining two different stamp sets.

20170506_082643

Again, this is another simple layout and again, it was my GoPro to the rescue. I’ve been inspired by a lot of magazine and typography design and I’ve been drawn to clean and simple looks and so I tried to mimick some of that into this album. The only embelleshment I used on this layout was a black heart from Amy Tangerine On A Whim thickers. I don’t use thickers often but I love this set and you might have seen some of these pop up on my flat lays.

So adventurous!!!

I must go now, my couch and TV await! Thanks for checking out today’s blog post!
