Mini Album

Mini Album: Say Yes To New Adventures

Hey there! I have a couple of new mini album pages to share with you today. All the pictures on these pages were taken during our Moab trip (I promise I’ll stop talking about Moab soon… maybe.)  I actually love looking at these pages you’re about to see because if you didn’t know any better, you would think I was an adventurous person just by looking at them. You would have no idea that lately my life pretty much consists of watching all the Real Housewives, scarfing down rainbow sorbet, that’s if I actually felt like getting up and taking the time to scoop it in a plastic cup, if not, I’d be stuffing my face with Doritos. Adventurous? Ha!

For this first layout, I used two inserts from Push Print Studio for my background. The first insert (pink and white) is from the This and That set, and the second (polka dot) is from the Let’s Do This set. I added some washi tape from Studio Calico (?) and a die cut from Hero Arts Clearly Kelly’s To Do List stamp and die set. I made the transparency page with Grafix Ink Jet Film and added an exclamation mark pattern with Kellie Stamps’ Nuts About Food digital stamp set. If you have not checked out Caytlyn Chilelli’s (owner of Push Print Studio) blog post on how to print on transparency paper, you must! This is where I learned it from!

The “Perfect” digital stamp is from Kellie Stamps’ Today Was set. I added some plus sign puffy stickers that I received from one of Messy Box’s kits.

On the next layout, I kept it real simple and added a quote to one of my pictures with Photoshop.

It’s a little hard to see the quote because I used a pale pink color for my font.

This is one of the many reasons I love my GoPro because let’s face it, if my husband took this photo with his phone, 1. it wouldn’t exist because he wouldn’t have taken a picture 2. if he did happen to take a picture after I asked him to, it would’ve looked like… well let’s just say I didn’t marry him for his photography skills.

And here’s my last layout. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me post this already for (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day. I joined the Kellie Stamps challenge which included making a patterned background and combining two different stamp sets.

Again, this is another simple layout and again, it was my GoPro to the rescue. I’ve been inspired by a lot of magazine and typography design and I’ve been drawn to clean and simple looks and so I tried to mimick some of that into this album. The only embelleshment I used on this layout was a black heart from Amy Tangerine On A Whim thickers. I don’t use thickers often but I love this set and you might have seen some of these pop up on my flat lays.

So adventurous!!!

I must go now, my couch and TV await! Thanks for checking out today’s blog post!

My Favorites

April ’16 Top 5

Hey guys! I am back from what feels like a mini hiatus. April was such a blur. We have officially moved into our new house. We’re still unpacking and trying to figure out our new routines but we’re loving it! My new craft room is nowhere near ready, just FYI. But… I’m envisioning it in my head and it looks fabulous (fingers crossed it turns out that way)!

We also just got back from our Vegas trip and it was oh-so-awesome!!! The casinos, the food, the concert, the shopping…. ugh, I didn’t want it to end. But, alas, we’re back in Texas and I have some great news. I was interviewed by the sweet Jess Forster for her podcast, Pocket Talk. The episode is available now on her blog and on iTunes. I yelled in the jeep (and scared AJ) when she e-mailed me asking for an interview. She has interviewed so many of my favorite memory keepers so I could not believe I was going to be on the line-up among all these talented ladies! Please go check it out!

And now on to my April Top 5! This month I decided to go with my top 5 YouTube channels, Memory Keeping edition.

Apr Top 5

1. Julimakesthings by Juli Maniago

I love Juli’s style and I also enjoy her Instagram feed. She makes pocket page scrapbooking look super easy, especially on video!

2. Kelly Purkey by Kelly Purkey

Kelly makes it onto my top 5 yet again, but come on, she’s freaking awesome and I adore her style of memory keeping. Her videos are just as fun to watch as her layouts are.

3. Stephanie Makes by Stephanie Bryan

I love seeing someone’s layouts/spreads and thinking “how come I never thought of that?”, and that is what Stephanie does for me all the time and it’s so inspiring to be able to see her make her spreads on video.

4. Amy Tangerine by Amy Tan

Amy has some of the best videos! They’re fun and vibrant and I love how she gives us little sneak peaks of her personal life. Watching her videos seriously feels like your BFF is video chatting with you.

5. Martu Alterada by Marta Andilla

If you guys haven’t checked out Marta on YouTube (or Instagram), you’re definitely missing out! While her videos are in Spanish, you can still watch and see she’s very creative and has her own style of memory keeping.

I hope you guys check out these YouTube channels and leave some love for these ladies.

I hope you guys enjoyed this month’s top 5!

Project Life

Project Life: July ’15

Hi everyone! I’m back with my Project Life layout for July. I really tried taking more photos this past month. I always had a camera on me (or two) and I made sure to take pictures of what caught my eye. My family and I also bought a selfie stick and put it to good use. We didn’t care that people were probably looking at us funny because we couldn’t stop yelling and laughing because we had no idea what we were doing.DSC02969

I used Studio Calico, Kellie Stamps, Kelly Purkey, and Simon Says Stamp stamps for my layout. For the journaling cards, I used Studio Calico and Amy Tangerine paper and a card from Big City Quiet Designs.

DSC02972I made the firework journal card with Photoshop, because come on, you know that song pops into your head when you see fireworks (Right? Or am I the only one?).
DSC02982Some of the pictures I took during July were for another Project Life album I’m working on and I didn’t want to use the pictures twice, so I ended up having more empty spaces on this layout than I thought I would. To help cover more space, I took a 4×3 picture of AJ and made it into a 8×6. I really like how the layout turned out because of it.DSC02987This week I will be heading to Dallas for a small family trip and I am charging my cameras and selfie stick as I type! I’m hoping I will have tons of pictures for my August layout, and then September should be filled with pictures of Austin!

Thanks for stopping by!
