Project Life: April ’16 (Part 4)

Hello everyone! I have more good news to share, I am now a part of the Color Cast Designs Design Team!

I am extremely excited to be a part of such a talented group of ladies and I cannot wait to start incorporating some of Color Cast Designs into my memory keeping! This year just keeps getting better and better!

With that being said, here are my last two Vegas layouts. What an awesome trip we had! I’m so happy I took all these pictures to create these layouts. The whole reason of the trip was to see George Strait and Kasey Musgraves in concert.

For this layout I used Becky Higgins Design H Pocket Pages. I also used inserts from the Confetti Digital Edition and Stampin’ Up Everyday Adventure Digital Edition. One of my favorite things to do for concert layouts is to print out the set list. You want to remember the songs you jammed out to, right? Also, if you look below, you’ll notice we scored some bad-ass seats because I was able to walk away with guitar picks from each artist, and oh yeah, George and I had a moment… not really, he just touched my hand as he walked towards the stage. It’s definitely a moment in my book!

For my second layout, I decided to do some stamping. I haven’t stamped as much as I usually do just because I’ve been lazy. Hey, it happens! I used my Kellie Stamps for the stamping and a white tag to do some journaling. I also used the 4×6 insert from the Stampin’ Up Hello Lovely Digital Edition (LOVE this kit!!!) .

Here is a before and after of the Prince picture:

I did my editing in Lightroom and then ordered a 6×12 picture from Persnickety Prints, I have been so impressed with all my pictures that I order from there!

Believe it or not I still have more happy news to share, but that will be later! I hope you guys enjoyed my layouts, see you next time!

August ’16 Top 5

Hey there! I’m not sure if you noticed but I didn’t do a Top 5 last month because I didn’t buy much and I have just… completely run out of ideas… I need some help here! Thankfully, I was able to do a little shopping and I have a great Top 5 for you for August! But first, I am excited to announce that I will be a guest creative for Kellie Stamps for the month of September!!! How awesome is that?! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kellie, her stamps, and her blog and this is such a huge deal to me! I think her creative team is awesome and I’m super excited to be a part of the group this month!

So let’s go ahead and get started with this month’s Top 5:

1. Mexicons Rumberas Coloring Book

By now I’m sure you know coloring books are all the rage right now and I wish I had the time to sit and color (I do but I’m just lazy). I’ve seen so many adult coloring books but just never found one that made me want to buy it, that is until I came across this gem. I follow Mexiconsart on Instagram (because I love anything Frida related) and when this coloring book popped up on my feed, I knew I had to get one! Now my problem is I’m too scared to mess it up with my bad coloring.

2. Push Print Studios Digital Downloads

Have you been to the Push Print Studios website? It is owned and designed by Caytlyn, who has amazing design taste! You can download a sheet of pocket page inserts for only a dollar!!! Talk about making your way into this cheap girl’s heart! I cannot wait until she releases her Fall collection!

3. Kate Spade Escape the Ordinary Rotating Stamp & Ink Set

I don’t have many rotating stamps but I knew this was one I needed to add to my small collection. I love this because of the fun phrases plus it’s just so pretty! It’s perfect for my Traveler’s Notebook, planner, or Project Life layouts.

4. Becky Higgins Everyday Edition Photo Overlays

I hope you guys were able to take advantage of Becky’s big sale recently because I sure did! I really didn’t plan on adding this to my cart but at the end I thought “sure, why not?” When I took them out to play with these overlays I couldn’t believe how good they looked on photos, I totally underestimated them! It adds such an effortless touch to your photos! With these, you don’t have to reprint photos if you don’t like what you stamped/glued on them. If you don’t like it, just take it off, no damage done to your photos. This is a must have for your Project Life layouts!

5. GoPro Hero4 Black
I freaking finally got a GoPro!!!! Major points to my husband who bought me one for our wedding anniversary (only took a year of me bugging him for one). This thing is so teeny tiny which is perfect for any outing. I’m hoping to get some pretty bad-ass pictures with this for my Project Life layouts! But for the meantime, here’s a fun video that I recorded with the time lapse feature of me putting part of my craft room together.

Could this mean more videos in the future? Yay or nay? We’ll see.

I am beyond excited for September! I still have a couple more things going on that I will share soon! Thank you so much for stopping by, hope you enjoyed!

Project Life: April ’16 (Part 3)

Hello everyone! I haven’t been that great about keeping up with my blog this month but I have actually been creatively busy, so I’m going to blame it on not having internet, STILL!!! I have been working on a couple of things and I can’t wait to share very soon! (Seriously cannot wait!) (Extremely excited!)

Today I am sharing two new Project Life layouts from our Vegas trip. We had such a blast on this trip and I’m happy I finally was able to document it!

For my first layout, I used Becky Higgins Design H and 6×12 pocket pages. I also used a couple of inserts from the Fine & Dandy Digital Edition. You guys know I always include black & white inserts to my layouts but I wanted to stay away from that because these pictures are so bright and colorful. It’s always good to change it up, right?

I have been using the picture of New York, New York for a lot of examples on how I like to edit my photos and it was nice to finally put it in my album. I used Christine Herrin’s Ready Jet Set Digital Stamps for an extra touch on that photo. You can see a before and after of that picture here.

I used the same pocket pages for my second layout. I added a stamp from Kellie Stamps and journaling on a white tag. For the inserts, I used a couple of 3×4 filler cards from Stampin Up Moments Like These Digital Edition and Project 52 2016 Digital Edition (had to throw some black & white in there!) To get the poker chips on the inserts, I used Scotch Permanent Mounting Squares.

I hope you guys enjoyed this quick post, I promise not to take too long for the next one!

Project Life: April ’16 (Part 2)

Hey guys! As of right now I’m still working on Project Life layouts from APRIL! We’re already in August and I’m not done documenting April. Either time is flying by too fast or I’m lazy as hell. It could also be that I took too many awesome pics that month (Vegas!). Check out a couple of more April layouts below, and no these are not the last ones for that month!

For this layout I used Design I and Design H pocket pages from Becky Higgins. I also used the Everyday Edition Core Kit. For the 4×4 pockets I just grabbed some of my favorite 4×6 inserts from the kit and trimmed them down.

On this layout I used only Design H pocket pages and I used inserts from the Wander Edition Digital Kit and Everyday Edition Paper Pad.

I ordered a stamp set from Christine Herrin a while back and this card was included in the package and I’m so glad I kept it because it was perfect for this layout. Yay freebies!
I’m seriously trying to catch up because I have other projects I’m working on and I can’t wait to share those with you! Soon!

Project Life: April ’16

Happy Fourth of July! I have been MIA this past month but by now you guys know my situation. I’m trying to look at the bright side though, instead of always being on my computer in the other room surfing the net, now I’m spending more time with my family – on my phone surfing the net. It’s all on how we look at things!

I should be posting my June Top 5 but because my last post was my May Top 5, I figured I should post some Project Life first.

For my first layout, I used the Becky Higgin’s Project 52 2016 Calendars Digital Kit again for my monthly cover and I also used the Project 52 2016 Digital Kit. I used my fuse tool for both pages, on the left page I fused the bottom of a Design H page (made a 4×6 into two 3×4). I also took a 6×12, the right page, and fused it into thirds to fit three 4×6 photos. This isn’t a very happy layout because it covers the ducks leaving and my childhood home going up on the market. Sad stuff, but it’s something important to me and as hard as the beginning of April was, that’s something I will want to remember.

On my second layout I decided to use the Wander Kit. I’ve used this kit before but I just love Christine Herrin’s style and I thought it went perfect with these pictures as well. The pictures on this layout are from the Stanton Old Sorehead Trade Days, something us West Texans look forward to three times a year. It’s a big craft/trade show with awesome food and the best freaking beef fajita burritos. Ever. Period. The end. In all the land.

I can’t wait to blog about the rest of April because I will be documenting about moving and going to Vegas! I’m just hoping we will be bestowed the privilege of high-speed internet very, very soon. Fingers crossed… and at this point my legs, arms, and eyes are crossed as well.
