Color Cast Designs April ’17 Release

Hello everyone! I hope you guys have been enjoying your April! Can you believe it’s almost May?! I enjoyed some April showers here in my part of Texas in the beginning of the month, now I’m enjoying the heat. It feels like Summer already. I’m STILL working on my March PL layout. This is actually a first for me, it’s taking forever to finish my monthly layout because I have TOO MANY photos! And well, it’s all pretty much a Moab layout, which is fine because that just means we all had a great time on our family trip and I did a good job at taking photos (really it’s my GoPro that deserves the pat on the back).

You’re actually going to see some of my March layout on today’s post but before I start, I wanted to let you know I was very fortunate to be asked to be a guest on Pocket Talk again! So thanks again to Jess Forster because I had a great conversation with her, Krista Wells, and Jen Schow about staying caught up with my memory keeping! Please go check it out and let me know what you think!

Let’s go ahead and see Color Cast Design’s new release for April! So much good stuff (and this is only two sets)!

I don’t know if it’s just me (because I’ve always worked as an administrative assistant) or the well known fact that tabs are just one of the greatest inventions of all time, but I love tabs! Who doesn’t like to be organized (don’t judge me but I have a filing cabinet in my craft room and every single paystub I’ve ever received is perfectly filed)? So whoever decided that tabs would work just as well in the crafting world… well you have my deepest appreciation! Not only are wood veneer tabs awesome, but the tabs have phrases on them that just so happened to fit perfectly with the middle pages of my March spread!20170420_124656

The set is called Still Smiling and it comes with eight tabs. These tabs are have “sticky” backs, you just peel off the back and they become stickers.

What I decided to do with my tabs was to peel the top part of the backing off two tabs and stick them together. I then slid the whole tab over the edge of my pocket page. I did this so I could slide them exactly where I wanted them. 20170420_125004

I haven’t decided if I will staple them down or not but I’m still finishing my layouts so this just worked the way I needed it to! They’re thin enough to even sew on, for all you sewers out there!

For my second project, I did what I call the “Lazy Girl’s Week In The Life”. If you don’t know what WITL is you’ve been living under a rock, it is a project that Ali Edwards came out with where you document a week in your life. Sounds easy but let’s face it, I’m lazy. I wanted to do it but in an easy version. Plus, I REALLY wanted to use the new Weekdays set!

The colors alone are so pretty! So pretty, that I really wanted to figure out a way to use them all on one page. I wanted the colors of the acrylics to pop so I printed all my photos in black and white.

You can also get the Highlights set, a set of wood veneers that can be paired with the Weekdays set. You can see here how they stick right on top.

I should be finishing my March layout right now but instead I’m drinking margaritas and listening to Donna Summer on vinyl soon. Even though I want April to stop going by so fast, I can’t wait to share some more fun stuff with you here in the next couple of weeks!

I hope you got a little pocket page inspiration, thanks for stopping by!
